Terms of Service

I Do Sound Last updated: [12/08/2026]

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service are provided to you together with your quote. By confirming your acceptance in writing (email or WhatsApp) and/or paying the deposit after receiving these Terms, you agree to be bound by them.

2. Our services

I Do Sound provides DJ, sound, lighting, and MC services for weddings, private celebrations, and corporate events, as described on our website and in your quote.

3. Bookings & confirmation

A booking is only confirmed once a 30% deposit has been received and the quote has been agreed in writing (email or WhatsApp). Until then, your date is not held and remains available to other clients.

4. Deposit & payment

  • A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total package price is required to secure your date.
  • The remaining 70% balance is due 7 days before the event date.
  • Payment is made by direct EFT into our business bank account. We don’t use a third-party payment gateway.
  • Please allow for standard EFT clearing times, especially over weekends, when making payment.

5. Cancellation policy

If you cancel your booking, the amount you owe depends on how far in advance you cancel, measured from the event date:

  • More than 90 days before the event: you forfeit the 30% deposit only. No further amount is owed, and any payment made beyond the deposit is refunded.
  • Between 30 and 90 days before the event: you are liable for 50% of the total package price. If you’ve paid less than this, the difference becomes due immediately; if you’ve paid more, the excess is refunded.
  • Within 30 days of the event: you are liable for 100% of the total package price. No refund is given, and any outstanding balance remains due immediately.

6. Rescheduling

You may reschedule your booking once, subject to our availability on the new date. Rescheduling requests must be made in writing. A second reschedule is treated as a cancellation under Section 5.

7. Non-payment of balance

If the balance is not received by the due date, we will send a written reminder. If payment is still not received, we reserve the right to decline to perform the booked service. Any amounts already paid, including the deposit, are non-refundable in this case.

8. Client responsibilities

To ensure a smooth event, the client is responsible for:

  • Suitable, weatherproof access to the performance area, with a stable power supply within 20 metres of the setup area
  • Providing reasonable access for us to set up before the scheduled start time
  • Allowing up to 90 minutes of access after the event’s scheduled end time for us to pack down and vacate
  • Any venue-required permits, noise permissions, or curfews
  • Informing us in advance of any venue restrictions that may affect setup, sound levels, or timing

9. Equipment

All equipment remains the property of I Do Sound. Clients and guests may not operate, move, or tamper with equipment without our staff present. The client is liable for damage caused by guests or venue conditions outside our control, excluding normal wear and reasonable use.

10. Circumstances beyond our control

Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including load shedding/power outages, extreme weather, venue access issues, or acts of government. Where possible, we will use backup power and equipment to minimise disruption.

In the rare event we’re unable to perform due to illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond our control, we will make reasonable efforts to arrange a suitable replacement, or refund monies paid for services not rendered.

11. Liability

I Do Sound will take all reasonable care in providing services but is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the specific service booked.

12. Music & content

We take reasonable requests into account but retain final discretion over music selection to ensure good flow and appropriate content for the event and venue.

13. Photography, video & marketing use

We do not photograph or film your event ourselves. After your event, we may ask whether you’re willing to share a few photos from your day for use in our marketing, portfolio, or social media. You are always free to decline, and we will only use photos you’ve agreed to share.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
